Challenges
  • Give a neglected facade of house a more attractive, updated look that fits with the streetscape.

Solutions
As the first phase to an overall house renovation, the original, fake brick facade was removed and replaced with attractive stucco. A well-proportioned larger window replaced the old aluminum one. The facade was detailed with ceramic tiles and a window box with an integrated drip water system. In keeping with "green" building practices of reduce/recycle/reuse, the original front door was sanded down, refinished and reused. Plantings soften the overall effect.
